NEW 4th EDITION NOW ON SALE! On Foot in North Lesvos – a New Beginning
In Spring 2000 the first slim edition of
'On Foot in North Lesvos',
then titled 'Mithimna Walks' and produced by Mike Maunder on a home computer with an initial print run of 200, was introduced to Molivos, and sold out in its first morning.
Ten successful years and two further, and larger, editions later 'On Foot in North Lesvos' is the undisputed essential resource for walkers in the north of Lesvos, endorsed by, among others, the Rough Guide to the Greek Islands:-

- NEW:- Previously unpublished walks exploring new areas
- NEW:- 26 specially commissioned maps by Rutger Jesse
- NEW:- GPS co-ordinates at all key points
- NEW:- High production standards – we sought out the best printer in Lesvos,
and Takis Valakos at Promoline has excelled himself and most important:-
- NEW:- co-author Sigrid van der Zee
Mike Maunder and Sigrid van der Zee, the book's authors, first came to Lesvos like most people, on package holidays from the UK and Netherlands. Each decided that this was 'their' island, and returned year after year. Sigrid settled here permanently in 2000, working as a guide. She met and married a local fisherman, and now has a small son. In 2004 Mike found a house in an olive grove, and since then has spent at least six months of each year here.
In 2009 they decided to combine their love of walking and of Lesvos into a new edition of 'On Foot in North Lesvos', and the result is now available for you to buy and enjoy.
Whether you feel like a short stroll or an all-day hike, the 25 walks in 'On Foot in North Lesvos' will guide you step by step along local tracks and paths through some of the best scenery and to some of the most interesting places in the area.
Visit traditional villages, olive groves, orchards, pastures, forests, and cliff tops; .....also ruined water mills, abandoned Turkish villages, Roman baths, a battlefield, and a mountain-top.
